AUDREY MASON
Audrey Mason is a 18 year old multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter based in Northern Michigan. She currently attends Interlochen Arts Academy as a Senior where she majors in Singer/Songwriting, and plans to attend NYU in the fall at the Clive Davis Institute. She has been gigging locally in Michigan since she was 13, and performs both originals and covers. As well as mainly playing guitar, she also plays cello, electric bass, piano, and cajon. Additionally to performing solo, she is in a band called A to Z with one of her best friends, Zinnia Dungjen. While the band started as a duo, it has grown to feature a drummer, adding an intricate and exciting touch to their sound. Some highlights of Audrey’s career so far have been opening for numerous successful musicians, including The Accidentals, Five for Fighting, Joshua Davis, The Mountain Grass Unit, and more.
Audrey has always been extremely curious about why and how music has the ability to strike such evocative feeling and emotion with crowds of strangers. She is continuously drawn to the power of communication and unity through live music and dance, and she believes that it is one of the most honest and beautiful ways to form a deep connection with another person. She believes that music allows people to witness each other's open, broken, and joyous humanity. She always strives to achieve this kind of emotional impact and deliver a soul-freeing kind of feeling through her writing and performance.
Audrey’s original music blends elements of mountain folk music with influences of R&B and jazz.
